What this exam is made of

On the exam you answer 25 questions about short videos and conversations, 2 or 3 questions for each, so you hear about 10 fragments. They are of two kinds:

Choose what to do

Practise

No clock. You see straight away what was right.

Or practise one kind only

One fragment with its questions.

Practice exam

The whole part, as on the real exam: 25 questions in 45 minutes.

A sample, as you see it after handing in

A real conversation from the practice sets, with three of its questions. When you practise you listen first; after handing in you see what was said, and yellow shows where you hear each answer. Underlined words have a number after them: click it to see what the word or phrase means, and for grammar, a link to its explanation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Listening exam like?

You take it on a computer. You watch short videos and listen to conversations, with two or three multiple-choice questions on each. You read the question first, then watch or listen. You have 45 minutes for 25 questions.

How often may I listen on the exam?

As often as you like. Each time it starts from the beginning: the introduction, ten seconds to read the question, the video or conversation, and then the question and its answers read out.

Can I read along on the exam?

Only with the question. The question and its answers are on the screen, and they are read out too. What is said in the video or conversation is not written anywhere: you have to hear it.

How often may I listen here?

As often as you like too, in a practice set and in a practice exam. Here too the conversation is not on the screen. You read the question and its answers; they are not read out here yet.

Do I see here what was said?

Yes, but only after you hand in. Then you see the conversation written out, with the sentences that hold each answer marked. On the exam you never see it.
